Expect foods from around the globe -- think Latin, Asian, Italian Pasta, Indian, American, gluten-free and vegetarian.

The restaurant opens Wednesday, Nov. 15, with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting on Friday, Nov. 17, complete with free tastings that day from 3 to 6 p.m. The ribbon-cutting at 3:30 p.m.

The change is in line with the initiative of the World Heritage Cultural Center, a new nonprofit based in Brewster that is run by Sattie Persaud, the sister of Kass Owner Gita Daka.

Not only will this be a center for learning about any culture in the world, but it will also generate scholarship programs, bring in scholars from around the globe for lectures; offer work-study programs and summer camps.

"We literally have the world in our backyard and we want to make Brewster a destination," he said.

Go to www.mywhcc.org to find out more about the organization, which will hold events at the restaurant.

A new series, "Friday Night Laughs" starts Dec. 8.

Kass is at 3867 Danbury Rd., 845-363-1869.
