Joanne Colangelo

Joanne Colangelo mixes her of love of reading, writing, and photography to promote animal welfare. A former teacher, who is currently a substitute teacher for a local school district, Joanne holds three teaching certificates including a Master's Degree in Reading Instruction. She has several published articles in magazines and newspapers and her photography was featured at the Mahopac Library. For over 20 years, Joanne served on the Board of Directors for Little Orphan Animals and then the Putnam Humane Society. Much of her free time is spent volunteering for a number of animal groups, including her own where she pulls dogs off kill lists and re-homes them. Joanne and her family have lived in our community for 34 years.
