Historical Fiction Writer Shouhua Qi Reads At February Saturday Scribes

BREWSTER, N.Y. -- Historical fiction writer Shouhua Qi will read at Saturday Scribes' at Studio Around the Corner on Feb. 13.

A professor of English at Western Connecticut State University, Qi has authored more than a dozen books, including "Purple Mountain Burns," which chronicles the Rape of Nanking and "Twin-Sun River," an examination of an American Korean War POW's predicaments in modern China.

An open mic will begin at 7 p.m. for anyone wishing to share work in progress. Qi will follow immediately afterward.

Studio Around the Corner is located at 67 Main St. in Brewster.
