Violet Matlin was born on March 24, 1924. She attended McDowell’s School of Design in New York City and it was there she began to refine her artistry. For many years, Matlin designed greeting cards for Norcross Cards. She loved to work with pen and ink as well as paint with acrylics and watercolors.
Most recently, she taught painting classes at the Senior Citizen Center in Carmel. She also volunteered at the Kent Library for several years.
She died in January.
