Patterson Rotary Invites Families To Touch A Truck Fundraiser For Veterans

PATTERSON, N. Y. -- A Tow "Mater" tow truck, a dump truck and fire trucks are just some of the vehicles that will be on display for children to explore at the Patterson Rotary Club's Touch-A-Truck for Heroes event Saturday at the Thunder Ridge Ski Area in Patterson.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., participants to check out trucks and meet the people who drive them, and enjoy food trucks and entertainment from DJ Tom Furci, and Sand Art Party. Participating restaurants include Roseann's Kitchen and Thierry Danvin of Brewster Pastry.

Firefighters from Putnam Like Fire Department and their trucks will be there as will members of the Putnam County New York Riders. There will also be a kids play area and face painting. 

A suggested donation of $2 per person or no more than $10 per family is requested. All funds raised go towards veterans' projects and programs. 

With the funds raised's 2015 event, the Rotary Club members were able to buy and install a large wooden garden shed at the Veterans' Home in Carmel, officials said. For more details, visit the Rotary Club's Facebook page.
