Putnam Plans Discussion On State's Firearms Laws

CARMEL, N.Y. -- Residents who own guns or are thinking about purchasing one, will want to take part in a special meeting hosted by the Putnam County Firearm Owners Association on Wednesday, June 29 at the Paladin Center in Carmel.

The event, which begins at 7 p.m., will feature information about New York State gun laws and rules gun owners should know.

Speakers will include Putnam County Court Judge James Rietz; Putnam County District Attorney Robert Tendy; Putnam County Executive MaryEllen Odell; Putnam County Clerk Michael Bartolotti, and Tom King, president of the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association. 

In addition, there will be representatives from the Putnam County Sheriff's Office and the Carmel Police Department, as well as a number of candidates running for political office.
