PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- A tech "marketplace" will be featured immediately prior to Putnam County Executive MaryEllen Odell's State of the County address, her office announced.
Participants are still being sought for the marketplace, which will take place on Thursday, March 9.
"We hope to have several presentations and technology exhibits from those in our community who are focused on reaching the younger generation of Putnam County residents in the hope that they choose to live, work and play right here in our community," the county executive's office said in a statement.
Odell's interest in having the event coincides with her push to support millennials.
"The generation of young people returning to Putnam County is reliant upon the internet and all forms of technology throughout their daily lives to shop, find the best restaurants and entertainment, for travel and to locate housing and employment," Odell's office said in the statement "If you are a business or agency who has developed new and innovative means of accessing technology to market to this consumer group, then we would love to hear from you."
Those who are interested in the marketplace can email Putnam County Law Department officials Maureen Bernard and Heidi Kuhland at the respective email addresses of firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
