Tompkins Arts Corner Launches Family Arts Festival In Putnam Valley

PUTNAM VALLEY, N.Y. -- Tompkins Corners Cultural Center in Putnam Valley will host its inaugural Funtastic Family Arts Festival on Sunday, July 10.

The festival will feature multiple stations for creative projects using various materials from noon to 5 p.m. and a puppet show at 2:30 p.m. 

"One Earth So Green and Round" with singer/puppeteer Lydia Adams Davis will introduce native animal puppets to kids before the children become puppeteers themselves. 

Amy Hersh will sing original children's songs and help kids learn to sing them as well, while music maker Caleb will demonstrate how to make musical instruments such as finger pianos. 

Maaike Hoekstra will present a pottery demonstration.

Advance tickets are available for $20 per family online at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2565248. Walk-ins are welcome, but RSVPs are recommended.
