PATTERSON, N.Y. - Thanks to cold weather, snow making and a nice topping of the real stuff, Patterson's Thunder Ridge Ski Area opened for the first time this season on Friday, and had a good crowd skiing the mountain Saturday.
"The skiing is good, there's a lot of snow, and not too much wind," Yuling An, of Yorktown, skiing with her family, told Daily Voice. "It's not too cold, and it's not too crowded, so it's a wonderful day for our first day skiing of the year."
Thunder Ridge is located on Rt. 22 in Patterson. For conditions, call 845-878-4100, or visit www.thunderridgeski.com.
