The Greater Mahopac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce has organized the Chamber Scholarship Raffle to benefit its scholarship fund and the grand prize is a shiny new 19-foot boat from Mahopac Marina.

“This raffle gives the Chamber an opportunity to raise funds for scholarships, as well as promote our members and the incredible destinations for boating, golfing and dining we have in Putnam County,” said Faith Ann Butcher, Chairwoman of the Chamber of Commerce.

The grand prize - a 2017, 19-foot Stingray from Mahopac Marine - comes with the winner’s choice of a trailer or a boat slip (for one year) at Mahopac Marina. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department will also be providing boating classes to the grand-prize winner to ensure safety on the water. The package is worth more than $35,000.00.

“Investing in the future of our community has always been important to my family, and the Chamber has played a large role in that,” said Charles Melchner Jr., whose family owns Mahopac Marine. “I am glad that we are able to partner and showcase the treasures of the Mahopac-Carmel area.”

Second prize is four foursomes of golf, one foursome at each of the following courses: Centennial Golf Club, Mahopac Golf and Beach Club, Putnam County Golf Course and Garrison Golf Club. Third prize is $500 of local restaurant gift cards.

The drawing will be held at noon on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 18 at Mahopac Chamber Park in Mahopac

In addition, there will be a $1,000 cash early-bird prize, which will be drawn at the Chamber’s monthly mixer event at Mahopac Golf and Beach Club on Thursday, April 13.

While the raffle is open to the community, only 750 tickets will be sold. Tickets, which are $100 each or three for $250, can be purchased at the Chamber office, located at 953 South Lake Blvd. or from designated Chamber members.

Every year the Chamber awards grants to select graduating high school seniors from the Mahopac and Carmel school districts. Last year, the Chamber gave out $16,000.00 in scholarships.

Mahopac Marine will have the boat on display and will be selling raffle tickets during its annual open house, held at its boatyard located at 177 Buckshollow Road in Mahopac, from Saturday, Feb. 25 through Sunday, March 5.
