Friends, Family Create GoFundMe Page For Mahopac Woman Battling Cancer

Hajkowski has long been part of the Relay For Life family, and started fighting cancer at the Mahopac Relay, soon joining the planning committee and then becoming an event lead, and also later became part of the Patterson Relay planning committee.

Due to the nature of her illness, Hajkowski needs to be treated at Mass General. Boston is far from home and even with the help she will get from the American Cancer Society, she will need help.

"We are setting up this GoFundMe for Crissy so that her family can be with her during surgery and during her very long recovery," Romykay Hajkowski explains on the page. "Crissy is always helping others and honestly was a little shy about accepting this help. I am asking that we show her that she is not alone. Any amount that you can donate will help. Prayers and love and hope will help too."

The page's goal is to raise $10,000.00, and as of Wednesday afternoon the page had raised just over $1,200.00 in 22 hours.
