Lottery Scheduled For Peekskill Railroad Commuters

Train commuters need to take note -- Peekskill will select parking permits for rail commuters for next year at a lottery on Thursday, Nov. 16.

The lottery, which requires that entries be postmarked by Nov. 10,  is for residents first, with left-over permits provided to non-residents, also by lottery, Peekskill city officials said.

Residents can only apply one time if duplicate entries are received, all be disqualified.

To enter the lottery, go to the city website's, click on the advisory about the lottery, fill out the bottom of the form and mail it back to the city clerk’s office at 840 Main St., Peekskill, NY 10566.

The envelope should say “Parking lottery - Resident” or “Parking lottery - Non-resident."

Selections will be made at random.

If selected, the city will contact the person directly at their daytime phone number. Residents are asked not to call the clerk's office, that only those picked will be called.

Any selected space must be paid for within 10 business days.

Parking rates range from $36 for a resident's monthly permit, to $360 and $410 for various annual permits. Non-resident permits run from $88 for a monthly permit to $577 to $1,017 for annual permits.
