If your invitation to Saturday’s celebration of the marriage of Prince Harry and his American bride-to-be Meghan Markle got lost in the mail, New Canaan’s Roger Sherman Inn  has a unique viewing party in the works, featuring special guest Chris Ely, former Footman to Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana of Wales, which it hopes you'll consider attending.

With champagne cocktails and a lavish buffet breakfast – complete with elderflower and lemon scones, the flavors of the wedding cake – you’ll be able to view the wedding coverage starting at 7 a.m. on large-screen televisions throughout the Inn. Look for Greenwich native and Markle’s former “Suits” co-star Sarah Rafferty in the pews of St. George’s Chapel.

Ely, who was the personal butler of Brooke Astor from 1997 to 2009, is set to share his experiences at Buckingham Palace and many of the state and private residences of the British Royal family performing estate management duties.

Wedding coverage begins at 7 a.m. on Saturday, May 19th while the ceremony itself is expected to start at 8 a.m. The Roger Sherman Inn viewing party and breakfast ends at 10 a.m. Fascinators and hats optional.

“This is the one wedding where you can come as are - casual Saturday morning attire with a fanciful hat, perhaps?” teases Roger Sherman Inn owner and creative soiree planner Nes Jaffre.

“We host a lot of weddings at our beautiful New England inn, but this will be our first daybreak wedding and we can’t wait!”

The Roger Sherman Inn is located at 195 Oenoke Ridge in New Canaan. Reservations can be made by calling (203) 966-4541. The event is $40 per person (plus tax/gratuity).
