Northwell Health Walk Will Be Held At FDR Park In Yorktown

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. --  More than 500 participants have already signed up to take part in the Northwell Health Walk to help raise funds for two important local health programs on Sunday, May 21.

Sponsored by Northern Westchester Hospital and Phelps Hospital, funds raised through the two-mile walk will be used to help support:

  • The Bruce and Andrea Yablon Cancer Health and Wellness Program at Northern Westchester Hospital provides thousands of patients free access to health coaches, registered dietitians, exercise programs, individual and group counseling as well as integrative medicine, including acupuncture and reflexology.
  • The Northwell Health Cancer Institute at Phelps Hospital gives patients easy access to a broad range of specialized treatments and cancer specialists in surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, interventional radiology and diagnostic radiology. The institute provides opportunities for patients to participate in innovative research studies, including early-stage clinical trials available through Northwell Health’s strategic affiliation with Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and its world-renowned cancer researchers.

In addition to the walk, the day will include health and wellness exhibits, a kids zone, music and entertainment and food and drinks. 

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with the event beginning at 10 a.m. with the walk at the Frank D. Roosevelt State Park in Yorktown Heights.
