In 2014 Jopling premiered The String Pulse Experience at Paramount Hudson Valley in Peekskill.

This original show with gorgeous projections and lighting design gives children studying music and dance the chance of a lifetime: to perform on a world class stage with the world class musicians of the Daisy Jopling Band and special guest artists.

The idea originated after Jopling met with Carol Arrucci from the Cortlandt School of Performing Arts. Arrucci wanted to bring all the local string students together in one performance and felt that Jopling would be a great musical director for the concept. They decided to put on the show with Jopling writing the music.

"I wanted to choose styles that would be fun for the kids and that I love," Jopling said. "Like reggae and tango or Irish folk music. We also work with Michael Feigenbaum, who does beatboxing, body percussion and rap."

Jopling said she has really enjoyed watching the kids evolve as musicians.

"We write the music specific to their level," Jopling said. "They have made such leaps and bounds."

Jopling also said it was a life changing amazing experience to perform with the kids.

"You can feel the excitement," Jopling said. "It's a major event for them. It's really cool."

The Peekskill musician has been taking her act on the road, having recently performed a similar show with students in Lake Placid where many of the kids performed from memory for the first time. They also participated in free workshops with Michael Feigenbaum and Jopling's band members, all privately sponsored. A documentary film about the Lake Placid project will be shown on PBS at a later date.

"The performance in Lake Placid was completely extraordinary," Jopling said.

After performing in Lake Placid, Jopling flew right to Vienna, Austria to perform a sold out concert with her band in the Musikverein. They have been invited to perform again at the Vienna Opera House in 2016. She will also be touring in China later this year for 25 concerts, and will be performing 35 concerts in Norway in 2016.

"It's a wonderful opportunity," Jopling said. "The concerts I play with kids really stand out in my mind."

Jopling said giving kids the gift of music is very important and rewarding for her.

"This doesn't mean the kids have to become musicians," Jopling said. "Some of them will want to. But The String Pulse Experience exceeds expectations of what they think they can do."

Jopling will be performing at the Thalia Theater in New York City on May 20 at 7 p.m. Tickets are available here.

Jopling's next show at the Paramount Hudson Valley theatre will be December 6, 2015 at 3pm.
