Motorists are advised that the right lane on a stretch of southbound Interstate 684 will be closed on Saturday, April 8.
The closure, between Exit 6 (Route 35) and Exit 5 (Saw Mill River Parkway South), will be from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. while crews perform maintenance activities, weather permitting.
In addition, the ramp to the Saw Mill River Parkway southbound is expected to be closed during this time. Traffic will be detoured onto Route 35.
Motorists should anticipate delays and seek alternate routes when possible.
Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
