The vote, held at the board's Aug. 20 meeting, was to authorize an application to the New York State Dormitory Authority.

The grant, according to the board's resolution, is a State and Municipal Facilities Program Grant. Supervisor Kenneth Schmitt, in an interview following the meeting, said it is a $200,000 grant for upgrades and improvements. The grant would apply to work on the park's ballfield dugouts, Schmitt said.

The supervisor also said state Sen. Greg Ball (R–Patterson) arranged the grant for the town.
