Cody Peluso, 32, of Carmel, was arrested and charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance after he was found in possession of two pills of soboxone, one pill of alprazolam, and 200 anabolic steroids, according to Stony Point Lt. Keith Williams.

At the time, Peluso was the Hudson Valley regional director for U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY). He no longer works for Schumer.

He ultiimately pled guilty to a charge of unlicensed operation for which he was fined $297 in the Town of Stony Point Court. All other charges were dismissed.

The arrest occurred on May 23, 2016. The stop was prompted by a license plate check that determined Peluso's vehicle registration was suspended.
