People at the performance Thursday, July 31, were seen dancing, and kids were running around. The park, near Route 6N, has views of Lake Mahopac and a promenade that leads to its edge.
Band members reacted to the occasion positively.
“Oh, it’s really great,” said Brendan Moynihan, who sings background harmonies and plays bass guitar for Copycat.
Bobby Calypso, Copycat's lead singer and guitar player, said it's been a “great time.”
The band's members live in Long Island, although one of them is originally from Mahopac.
The event is sponsored by Tompkins Mahopac Bank, according to Bill Pope, who is on the board of the Great Mahopac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce. The chamber helps maintain the park, he explained.
The town has one more scheduled concert for the series. It will include Back to the Garden and is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 7, at 7 p.m. and will be held at the same park.
