Pack McCarthy received 126 votes in Tuesday's runoff versus 104 for opponent Thomas Robertson, Village Clerk Pauline Minners told Daily Voice.

The runoff election was held to break a tie between the candidates, who each received 90 votes from the original election held on March 18.

Under state law, tied elections must be decided with a runoff unless all involved candidates agree to waive it and go with drawing lots as an alternative, Minners previously said.

Robertson agreed to a waiver but McCarthy chose a runoff, Minners previously said.

The clerk also provided a break down of the voting results by method. According to the data, Pack McCarthy's vote total includes 105 in person and 21 absentee ballots, while the figures for Robertson are 98 and six, respectively.

Turnout was higher this time, Minners said. Her results show that 230 votes were cast for the runoff versus 186 for the first election.

Pack McCarthy's term officially starts on April 1, Minners said.
