Developer Will Get Almost $8 Million From MTA For Southeast Land

SOUTHEAST, N.Y. -- A state Supreme Court justice ordered the Metropolitan Transit Authority to pay $4.3 million, plus interest, for 51 acres seized in 2003 to expand the Southeast train station parking lot, according to LoHud.com.

With interest, the MTA will pay closer to $8 million for the land, LoHud.com said. 

MTA officials contended the land was worth approximately $700,000, but the developer who previously owned the parcel said it was worth closer to $9 million, LoHud.com reported.
