The male pooch was so elusive that the local animal control person had to use a “Havahart” trap to capture it, said shelter spokesperson Michele Dugan.
Other than being “really frightened,” the dog appeared to be in good shape, she added.
The brown, black and white animal, who had no collar or license, was rescued Monday afternoon, Dugan said.

The shelter is located at 68 Old Route 6 (behind the Putnam Plaza Shopping Center), Carmel.
