Do You Know Him? Lost Beagle Found In Mahopac

MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- A very nervous little beagle has been found wandering around West Lake Boulevard in Mahopac, according to the Putnam Humane Society.

This little beagle was found on West Lake Boulevard in Mahopac Monday afternoon. The folks at the Putnam Humane Society in Carmel are trying to locate his owners.

The male pooch was so elusive that the local animal control person had to use a “Havahart” trap to capture it, said shelter spokesperson Michele Dugan.

Other than being “really frightened,” the dog appeared to be in good shape, she added.

The brown, black and white animal, who had no collar or license, was rescued Monday afternoon, Dugan said.

Anyone who knows who the dog belongs to is asked to call the Putnam Humane Society at (845) 225-7777.

The shelter is located at 68 Old Route 6 (behind the Putnam Plaza Shopping Center), Carmel.
