Flash Flood Warning Issued For Putnam County

PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Putnam County until 7 p.m.

A thunderstorm capable of producing heavy rains is expected to move through the area this afternoon.

A warning indicates that flash flooding is expected in the following areas: Brewster, Lake Carmel, Mahopac, Carmel, Bethel, Carmel Hamlet, Brewster Hill, Chimney Point, Putnam Lake and Peach Lake.

Residents in these areas should be ready to take higher ground and report any flooding to local law enforcement agencies.
