The wintry blast will return overnight into Saturday with wind-chills in the mid 20s, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a freeze warning for Putnam County from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday morning.

The potentially sub-freezing temperatures could damage or kill seasonal and sensitive plants that are left uncovered.

Below-average temperatures will continue on Sunday with a high near 58, but wind chills will make it feel closer to mid-30s.

Sun will linger in the area for a while, but temperatures won't make it to the mid-60s until the middle of the week.
