Daily Voice Managing Editor Joe Lombardi presented the award to Melissa Kamin, Director of Community Relations for the market, and Howard Yager, Executive Director of the Hudson Valley Cerebral Palsy Association.

"I think its absolutely wonderful that the community has come together for the farmers market," Yager told Daily Voice. "They've supported us for nine months now. The market is not only providing a service to our community - in terms of fresh fruits, vegetables, crafts, meats and bread products - but it's also a place where the community can get together, and people of all abilities have a chance to work together - which is what we're trying to do here."

Yager said it's the vendors that make the market the success it has become.

"I think the vendors are incredible," Yager said. "The produce is all organic, and all from local farms, the bread, fish and meat are also from the area, and from local vendors. That's what brings people here."

The Hudson Valley Regional Farmers Market is open year-round, and is located at 15 Mount Ebo Road South in Brewster, N.Y.
