The cheerful Carmel girl, 6, attended with her grandfather, Jack Dantec. A few feet over, Earl Greene of Carmel watched his grandson, Alex Tkacz of Patterson, spin his way to success at the spin-a-wheel. Rogers Mills’ children played with dinosaur action figures.
Peter Carpenter watched his granddaughters Kendall, 6, and Averie, 4, play corn hole, a game set up by the Putnam County Department of Health. The girls won tooth brushes.
“This is the second year in-a-row we’ve been here and it’s a nice day and the kids get a kick out of it,” Carpenter said.
Alicia Maston of Brewster brought her three-year-old son, Joey, to ride both the rides and a pony. Maston grew up in Carmel and was a 4-H member for years. She said she has owned about 100 bunnies in her life and has shown them and other animals at past 4-H Fairs.
She hopes to get her son involved when he gets older.
