The Sheriff's Department was advised that Marc D. De Benigno, 38, was in Putnam County, which violated the terms of his Connecticut probation, police said.
De Benigno had been previously convicted of third-degree burglary, first-degree larceny, possession of narcotics, illegal possession of a weapon and credit card theft. The terms of his probation required he not leave the state of Connecticut without written permission, police said.
De Benigno was found in his vehicle in the area of Peach Lake Road in the Town of Southeast. He was taken into custody and is awaiting extradition to Connecticut, police said.
