During the video interview, which was held at her office in downtown Carmel, Odell was asked whether Western Putnam receives adequate county services at the moment.
“No," she replied. "I've recognized that the western part of the county has not been receiving their fair share of opportunities for county services for a long time now."
As one example of a new service, Odell voiced support for having a senior center at the Butterfield hospital site in Cold Spring, a topic that has been extensively covered by media outlets in Putnam.
Odell listed several county service examples that could be offered, including for motor vehicles, personnel services and tourism opportunities.
“You know, those residents pay a lot in taxes and we should be doing more to make sure that they can access the services more conveniently," she said.
Odell, a Republican is running for re-election against County Legislator Sam Oliverio, a Democrat.
