Hundreds of volunteers helped the Putnam Community Action Partnership’s Thanksgiving Basket program.
“All the local Rotary Clubs and supermarkets play a huge role in making this program a success. Patterson Rotary contributed drivers, supermarket food drive volunteers, and basket preparation,” said Putnam CAP Director, Judy Callahan.
In all, 400 families received dinner baskets, she said.
The baskets had items like pies, rolls, potatoes, apples, a turkey and gift card.
"Today’s meeting is always special because it shows that when everyone contributes to creating something special it works, regardless of how much or how little you do,” said organizer, Rotarian Michael Ingber, at a special Rotary meeting in November to assemble baskets.
