The possibility of visit by the pope next year to Philadelphia for the World Meeting of Families was raised earlier this week.

The pope has expressed a "willingness to participate in the World Meeting of Families," Catholic News Service reports a papal spokesman as stating. Catholic News Service also reports that the pope is considering invitations to visit New York, Washington and the United Nations.

“I think that his effect on people has been just absolutely breathtaking,” Gorman said, of the pope.

Gorman works for Cardinal Timothy Dolan at the Manhattan offices of the Archdiocese of New York.
