The leadership event, sponsored by the Putnam Valley Communities That Care and Putnam CTC coalitions drew 34 representatives from government, the faith and business communities, law enforcement, schools, media,  youth and substance abuse organizations, health care professionals and parents. It was hosted by the Putnam Valley Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

A student survey presented by the Putnam Valley school district helped participants highlight the problems facing young people in the community.

The coalition will use the information to find ways to address the problems facing Putnam Valley's youth.
