Paul L. Fox, 63, of Peaks Island, Maine, was charged with three counts of second-degree sexual assault, the News-Times reported. Fox gave up his state medical license in 2013 after having a sexual relationship with a patient, according to the News-Times. It was not clear if the new charges are in connection with that case. Fox was released on $100,000 bond and will appear May 3 in state Superior Court in Danbury, said the News-Times.

Fox was Lanza’s psychiatrist when he was a child, according to state police records, the News-Times reported. The psychiatrist stopped seeing Lanza almost five years before the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting that left 20 first-graders and six adults dead in 2012, added the News-Times.
