Southeast Car Crash Victim Was Helping A Friend, Report Says

PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. – Brewster resident Doug Cable was helping out a good friend on Friday, Nov. 14, when a station wagon collided with the vehicle he was a passenger in, killing Cable and the driver of the station wagon, reports Lohud.

Wes Cable Jr. says his brother went with Joseph Ruffalo, a contractor, to look into something Ruffalo was considering buying for work, according to the report.

The head-on crash happened at about 12:50 p.m. Friday when a station wagon driven by Kathleen Bassick of Danbury, Conn., crossed into northbound traffic near 365 Route 22. Ruffalo suffered minor injuries in the crash.
