Still A Mystery: Dutchess Woman Last Seen In 1973 Remains Missing

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - After more than 40 years, law enforcement agencies in Dutchess County are still searching for a woman who went missing in 1973.

A missing person alert remains in effect for Sheryl Tillinghast, who was last seen on Sept. 24, 1973 when she was living at the Wassaic State School in Dutchess. She would now be 61 years old.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children have issued a photo of Tillinghast when she was 17 years old, and an age-progressed photo to what she may look like now at 61. Tillinghast was described as a 5-foot-3 white female with brown hair and brown eyes.
