"We were grateful to Maureen Fleming and the Kent Town Board for allowing us to use the Town Hall for our opening program," said Library Director Carol Donick.

"Magic Jim" said he started to learn about magic after borrowing a book from his local library at the age of 6. An inflatable Spider-Man was raffled off to one of the 65 children who filled out a summer reading chart at the end of the show.

The Kent Public Library will sponsor events and give away prizes throughout the summer to encourage reading. Visit kentlibrary.org for more information.
