PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Putnam Valley Supervisor Bob Tendy defeated incumbent Adam Levy in the Republican primary for Putnam County District Attorney.

With 100 percent of the vote in, Tendy has 1,361 votes to Levy's 1,094 votes, 55.26 percent to 44.42 percent, according to unofficial results from the Putnam County Board of Elections.

In the GOP primary for Patterson Town Supervisor, town planner Richard Williams defeated Joseph Capasso 260 votes to 196 votes, 56.77 percent to 42.79 percent, according to unofficial results from the Putnam County Board of Elections.

Levy was aiming for a third term, having previously run unopposed.

The campaign was marked by allegations on both sides and attempts by Levy to get Tendy thrown off the ballot. Levy's is the son of Judith Sheindlin, TV's "Judge Judy."

Levy will still be on the Conservative and Independence lines on Election Day and said he plans on continuing his campaign.

In a statement, Levy claimed that "false accusations, specious statements and negative innuendos swayed the election."

"My record as DA is bulletproof," Levy said. "Putnam County is the safest place to live, work, and raise a family in New York State. I am looking forward to the general election in November when all the voters of Putnam County will have a chance to have their voices heard."

Levy has spent more than $350,000 of his own money in the race, having not raised any campaign funds, according to lohud. Tendy has raised $25,028 from 69 contributors and has spent $18,391.61.

Most of Tendy's contributors are from outside Putnam, according to lohud.
