Poughkeepsie Native Sandy Anderson, 60, Flight Attendant, Realtor

Poughkeepsie native Sandy Anderson died unexpectedly on June 9, 2017 at her home. She was 60.

Born in Poughkeepsie on Dec. 17, 1956, Sandy was the daughter of the late Alexander and Gilberta Anderson. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School and Dutchess Community College.

Sandy was a retired Flight Attendant for Delta Airlines. After retirement, she worked for Exit Reality as a Realtor.

She is survived by her siblings, Laurie Friedli (Brett) and Gil Anderson. In addition, her adored nieces, Hayley and Ali; nephews, Francis, Kyle and Alex; grandnieces, Sachie, Fiona and Elaina; grandnephew, Logan; and her two cats.

Sandy enjoyed traveling the world, especially her vacations to Brooklyn and Hyde Park, cooking for others, baking chocolate chip cookies, gardening, crossword puzzles, swimming and telling stories.

She was known by a dear friend in Utah as "the kindest person he ever met."

A celebration of Sandy's life will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 22 at Sweet's Funeral Home, Route 9, Hyde Park. A memorial service by Pastor Thom Fiet will be held at 6:30 p.m.
