Rabbi Solomon Acrish Of Southeast's Temple Beth Elohim, 76

SOUTHEAST, N.Y. -- Rabbi Solomon Acrish guided Temple Beth Elohim in Southeast for half a century before the Patterson resident, died Sunday at 76, according to lohud.com.

There will be a healing service at the temple at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, according to lohud.com.

Temple Administrator Nan Coulter said Acrish helped the temple's membership grow from 25 families in 1966 to 229 families today, leading bar and bat mitzvahs for multiple generations within families, according to lohud.com.

He is survived by his wife, Terri; son, Brian; and three grandchildren. Another son, Kevin, died earlier, according to lohud.com.
