PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Susan Feeney, 88 of New York City, died Nov. 20, 2016 of natural causes. She was a frequent visitor and lover of Putnam County where her family lived.
She was born April 16, 1928, in Carrickanaire, County Monaghan, Ireland. The daughter of Terrance Gibson and Catherine McCabe, she is survived by her loving children, Catherine and Robert. She is also survived by four loving grandchildren, Ryan, Kimberly, Jolene and Joseph. She is predeceased by her husband, Thomas Gerard Feeney (2000) and her son, Joseph Feeney (1994). She is also predeceased by three sisters and five brothers. Additionally, she is also survived by several very loving nieces and nephews.
After her children were grown, Susan worked as a home health aide for many years in New York City and Riverdale.
Susan was known for her quick wit, kind heart and generous nature. She often prepared home cooked meals and brought them to the homeless in New York City. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed greatly on a daily basis. A funeral mass will be held for her at Our Lady of the Lake Mount Carmel Church, 1 Doherty Drive, Lake Carmel at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3.
