Thomas Jay Heaslip III, 69, Of Mahopac, Air Force Veteran

MAHOPAC, N.Y. - Thomas Jay Heaslip III of Mahopac died Sept. 17. He was 69.

Heaslip was born Nov. 26, 1944, in Manhattan, to Mary C. (Turco) and Thomas Jay Heaslip Jr. He served as a captain in the United States Air Force. He received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Manhattan College and a Masters in nuclear engineering from New York University. He worked as an engineer for Loral Electronics in Yonkers.

Heaslip is survived by his wife, Maureen Heaslip; mother, Mary C. Heaslip; children, Kathleen Boyle, Deirdre Bell, and Thomas Heaslip; two grandchildren; and brother, Stephen Heaslip. Calling hours are Friday, Sept. 19 (Mahopac) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 at St. John's the Evangelist. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
