Troopers said they stopped Patrick W. O’Keefe on Mary Avenue for speeding on Wednesday. Following an investigation, O’Keefe was found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated, police said.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated (a misdemeanor) and aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree (a Class E felony).

O'Keefe was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation first degree when a license check revealed that his driving privileges were revoked due to a previous DWI-related arrest.

O’Keefe supplied a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .16 percent, two times the legal limit of intoxication, police said.

He was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Carmel Justice Court on July 11.
