Cortlandt Man, 30, Charged With False Reporting

CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- New York State Police charged a Cortlandt man on Friday, Sept. 26, with falsely alleging being a victim of identity theft and grand larceny, officials said.

Fernando J. DaCunha II, 30, allegedly told authorities that a foreign company debited $2,000 from his account illegally. Further investigation revealed that DaCunha is involved in an online civil dispute, police said. 

DaCunha surrendered to police and was released pending a future court date, police said.
