In April, State Police from the Cortlandt barracks were contacted by the Northern Virginia-Washington D.C. Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force  regarding an unknown male in New York sending indecent material to a special agent posing as a 14-year-old girl.

After an approximately month-long investigation, investigators in Cortlandt and the Troop K Computer Crimes Unit were able to identify and subsequently arrest Christopher Alessandro of Cortlandt.

On May 7, State Police, in conjunction with the Virginia State Police and the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office High Technology Crime Bureau, arrested Alessandro and charged him with attempted disseminating of indecent material to minors, a Class E felony.

Alessandro was arraigned before the Town of Cortlandt Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond. Alessandro is next scheduled to appear before the Town of Cortlandt Court on June 4.
