Dutchess Woman Attempted To Use Vehicle As Weapon In Dispute, Police Say

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- A 38-year-old woman is behind bars after state police say she attempted to use her vehicle as a weapon during a domestic dispute in Dutchess.

Dutchess County 911 dispatched troopers to a domestic dispute on Camby Road in the on Saturday, Sept. 23. An investigation revealed that Elizabeth Slaughter attempted to use her vehicle as a weapon during the dispute. Slaughter was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital for evaluation.

Slaughter, a Washington resident, was charged with reckless endangerment in the first degree, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a Class A Misdemeanor.

After being released from Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital Slaughter was arraigned for the Town of LaGrange Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bail bond. Slaughter is next scheduled to appear before the Town of Washington Justice Court on Tuesday, Sept. 26.
