Keefe, who plans to spend time with his five grandchildren and travel with his wife, said he knows that he is leaving the department in good hands.

"I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation and thanks to the East Fishkill Community," he said. 'I have had the pleasure of serving, meeting and working with so many terrific people, residents, and business owners over the years.

And while it might seem weird not going to work every day, Keefe said he has a ton of "projects" around the house and two years to get them done before his wife retires from teaching.

He added that East Fishkill will always be a special place to him and he is sure the men and women of the department will continue to provide the excellent service they are known for.

"My best wishes for future success to the department, the town, and the community," he added.
