The fire broke around 3:35 p.m. at the home in Kent on Hortontown Road, the Kent Fire Department said.

When firefighters arrived, they found a fully-involved fire on the second-floor of the home that is located close to the Dutchess County border.

Mutual aid crews included Carmel, East Fishkill, Lake Carmel, and Putnam Valley fire departments, along with help from the Putnam County Fire Investigation Team and the Putnam County Fire Police, the department said.

Because of a lack of fire hydrants in the area, tanker trucks from all departments worked to transport water to the fire.

No Injuries were reported and the crew remained on scene until after 10 p.m.

The department thanked Alan Bolbrock and the Putnam County Ladies Auxiliary for bringing them a warm meal.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
