Fire Engulfs Mahopac Auto Body Shop

MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- Firefighters from multiple municipalities battled a blaze at an auto body shop in Mahopac on Tuesday afternoon.

The auto body shop became engulfed in flames shortly after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Much of the shop, located at 4 Miller Road, was destroyed following the fire, which began around 1:30 p.m. and was not controlled until around 3 p.m.

Route 118 along the Mahopac/Somers border was closed while firefighters were on the scene.

There was one non-life threatening injury reported as a result of the fire.
