After responding to a dispatch around 10 p.m., interior fire crews made short work of the blaze, but did a thorough check of the interior and exterior of the house for extension of fire and wrapped up and cleared the scene just before midnight.

Both Mahopac Falls Fire Department stations emptied after the dispatch came in, sending a full assignment of two attack pumper/tankers, a source pumper, heavy rescue, two EMS units and Fire Police.

Arriving Carmel Police and Putnam County Sheriff's units kept the roads clear for the responding trucks and neighbors at a safe distance so the firefighters could work.

Chief Jeff Boyle assumed the role of Incident commander, putting out calls for Mahopac FD and Mohegan FD, with the FAST TEAM, to respond to the scene.

In addition, Battalion 6, Ted Pollack and Town of Carmel Building Inspector, Mike Carnazza were brought to the scene.
