New York State Police troopers from the Wappinger barracks arrested 22-year-old Brooklyn resident Damian Jackson following an investigation into an incident that happened earlier this year involving a bladed weapon at the facility.

According to police, their investigation revealed that on April 13, Jackson was in possession of the bladed weapon while he was still an inmate at the correctional facility. Jackson was arrested by state police on Wednesday and charged with a felony count of promoting prison contraband.

Jackson was arraigned in the Town of Fishkill Court and remains in the custody of the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. He is due back in court in January to answer the charge.
