KENT, N.Y. -- A Kent man was busted for crack cocaine following a traffic stop on Sunday by Kent Police.

Robert Geddes, 71, was arrested after he was stopped for having a suspended license tag. When the officer had Geddes step our of his vehicle, the officer saw him reach for the passenger seat, said Chief Alexander DiVernieri.

A check of the vehicle led to the discovery of a quantity of crack cocaine, a crack pipe, and an unidentified white pill, police said.

Geddes was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended registration. He was released on his own recognizance.
